Hopes for 2015…Engage

With New Year’s Resolutions already quickly falling by the wayside, it can be dangerous to speak of what we may be hoping for this year, but by the grace of God we’ll give it a shot…

This past year has been an exciting time as we launched Declaration Church. We’ve seen the LORD do so much in the past 9 months since we launched that first worship service in March. We have baptized over 15 people, started 6 Community Groups, and been a part of helping two other church plants launch. We have even had the opportunity to give away over $15,000 to church plants and partner ministries. The LORD has truly been gracious.

With all of that said, we have high hopes for 2015. Those hopes are centered upon the idea to “Engage.” This theme for 2015 is three-fold. We hope to Engage GOD in intimate ways through monthly corporate Prayer Gatherings as well as in personally. We want to Engage One Another (The Church) as we dive into Core Groups that are flowing from our Community Groups. We desire to truly embody Jesus’ words in John 13 that, “all people will know that we are His disciples if we love one another.” We also hope to Engage Others (The Culture). We will get this kicked off quickly as we dive into the Pursuit of GOD in the Old Testament book of Jonah and several exciting ministry needs within our community and beyond.

This is undoubtedly a lot for Declaration Church. We are so grateful that all of our hopes do not rest on our own willpower or ability, but on the fact that GOD first engaged us while we were yet sinners, dead in our sins, and gave us life. (Rom 5.8; Ephesians 2.1-4) If He can bring life to the dead, then nothing is impossible for Him. To God be the Glory.
