Love your neighbor

Jesus says the two greatest commandments are to love God then to love your neighbors (Mark 12:30-31). DC Neighbors exists to provide ways that we as a church can demonstrate the Gospel to our neighbors in Bryan/College Station by loving and serving them well.

The purpose of Kemp Pals is to serve and love the students and teachers of Kemp-Carver Elementary. Through mentorship, we aim to help encourage these students academically as well as relationally. Our hope is to demonstrate the gospel to these students in this school, neighborhood, and community. By being a friend and a mentor to these kids, pursuing them, investing in them, and loving them well, we believe that the Lord will make His name and presence known in this school and community.

What to expect?
Kemp Pals have the choice to be in the classroom or lunchroom, where they have the opportunity to love, invest, encourage, and work with students. Activities will vary depending on the grade level and teacher. The time commitment to be a Kemp Pal is one hour a week for a minimum of one school year.

If you are interested in being a part of Kemp Pals, please email our DC Neighbors & Nations Resident Diana Mancillas at
